Friends as children, inseparable as teens, stray apart as young adults and onto our separate ways. I move a few states away, off to L.A. You? Just a short drive, maybe 6 hours of the day.
All grown up, I can't stand your new ways.
Look down upon those who didn't leave and don't live like you do? Just because you left does not make you BRAND NEW.
What you don't understand and have come quick to forget, Don't you remember? You were that chick...Back home they weren't exposed to the same things as you. THEY still have struggles, perhaps not as bad as you.
"They stuck in the '90's, they feed off drama"...Hold up! Don't they refer to you as: "Hey...There goes tha homies Baby Mama"? Five kids and a couple baby daddy's you went through. County checks and don't forget, you once lived off food stamps too. Reality check; isn't it true? A few of your kids don't even live with you? That fact alone should make you second guess this pretend status of acting "BRAND NEW."
At one point I began to mimic EXACTLY what u do. All because I moved away, I contemplated being just like the BRAND NEW you. Thanks to the phone calls telling me precisely what you do, soon enough I realized that I'm feeding off of the negativity you. Then it dawned upon me... I can't stand the BRAND NEW you.
